Your Journey Through Our Remodeling Process
At KJB Homes, we prioritize a structured process from design to punchlist to ensure an positive remodeling experience.
We understand that remodeling can be stressful, and we try to alleviate as many unknowns as we can and keep you excited about progress from week to week through email and on site communication.
Phase 1
Initial Consultation
We begin with an on site consultation to understand your vision. This step is crucial for helping us to understand your goals and expectations and determine whether KJB Homes is a good fit for your project.
Phase 2
Planning & Design
Next, we develop a comprehensive scope by creating design plans to be reviewed and approved by you.
We do this prior to building a cost proposal to make sure that we are developing a plan that matches your vision from the very start.
Phase 3
Bid Phase
We meet with our team onsite to review the approved design plans. We then develop a detailed cost proposal for your project.
Phase 4
Contract Review
We carefully review the cost proposal with you line by line to confirm all details align with the approved plans and give you the opportunity to add optional “upgrades” and ask outstanding questions.
This ensures transparency and sets clear expectations before construction begins.

Phase 5
Permitting and Design Elements
Once the final remodeling contract is executed, we collaborate with you to fine-tune and select some of the design elements for your space prior to the project start date, and submit your remodeling plans to the city for permitting to ensure they are stamped and approved prior to project start.
Phase 6
Construction
The demo phase commences on an agreed upon date, as noted in the executed remodeling contract.
Prior to commencement, Katy and Derek will meet with you at your home in advance to discuss preparation for project start, including what needs to be moved out of the space, where dumpster and biff will be placed, lockbox details, and initial payment expectations.
